Unfortunately, only five film studios from golden era of Bengali cinema have survived the test of time. Here, BFA takes stock of others that dotted the city and made Kolkata an important shooting destination for even Hindi, Tamil and Telugu cinema. After painstaking rounds of the city during the peak of the pandemic, we have tried to unearth remnants of a few of them. The search for the rest is still on.
