After completing her bachelor of science from Calcutta University, Ranu Ghosh did a two-year course on Social Development in filmmaking designed and sponsored by TVE, London. She has experience of working in both celluloid and video formats as a cinematographer, director and producer of documentary films. Besides, she also has done the cinematography for fiction works in both the Bengali film industry as well as internationally. Awards
    • In 2000, she received the Best Director award from the Bengal Film and Journalist Association.
    • In 2022, she was the only Indian to be selected for a scholarship from the Film Independent & The US Department of state's Bureau of Education & Cultural Affairs (ECA).
